Porcelain Veneers

Our Porcelain Veneers process is as easy as 1, 2, 3

1. Initial Consultation & Digital Smile Design

“Begin with the end in mind” – Stephen Covey

This step is arguably the most important part to the entire treatment process, and that is, figuring out exactly what your goals are for your future smile. We do this by having a thorough consultation, discussing your objectives, and designing your smile with you using our advanced technology. It’s like drawing up the plans before you start building your house.

2. Temporary Veneers & Smile Trial

Before we even touch your teeth with any instruments, we want to make sure that you are completely happy with what we have planned and that it is in accordance to our goals and objectives. In this appointment, you will have a chance to see what the final outcome may look like in terms of shape, size and colour. If there are any changes that need to be made, we will also make it in this appointment. Think of this step like you are test-driving a car.

3. Final Smile Application

Once we have our master plan, we then get to work. You will be booked in for various visits where we will prepare your teeth, take scans, and place the temporary veneers whilst your final porcelain veneers are being made. In a separate visit, you will return to have the temporary veneers removed and the final veneers inserted. We generally aim to complete this process within 2-3 weeks so that you are not in your temporary veneers for a long time and so that you can achieve your desired smile faster!

FAQs

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells of porcelain that are bonded to the front surfaces of teeth to improve their appearance. They are designed to match the natural colour, shape, and translucency of teeth and can correct a variety of cosmetic issues.

What dental issues can porcelain veneers fix?

Porcelain veneers can be used to correct teeth that are discoloured, stained, chipped, cracked, misaligned, uneven, or have gaps between them. They provide a natural-looking solution to enhance the overall appearance of the smile.

Are porcelain veneers permanent?

Porcelain veneers are considered a permanent cosmetic dental treatment, as they require alteration of the natural tooth structure for placement and are fixed in place. However, they may need to be replaced eventually due to normal wear and tear or damage.

How long do porcelain veneers last?

The lifespan of porcelain veneers varies depending on factors such as oral hygiene habits, dietary habits, and the quality of the veneers. On average, porcelain veneers can last between 10 to 15 years or longer with proper care.

Are porcelain veneers painful to get?

The process of getting porcelain veneers is typically comfortable, as local anaesthesia is used to numb the teeth and gums during tooth preparation. Some patients may experience mild sensitivity or discomfort after the procedure, but it is usually temporary.

Can porcelain veneers stain?

Porcelain veneers are resistant to staining and discolouration, but they are not completely impervious to it. It’s important to avoid consuming staining substances such as coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco to maintain the appearance of veneers.
